My presentation will explore how authors (and readers) have understood the intricate task of responding to the Holocaust in writing.

Avraham (Alan) Rosen is the author or editor of ten books, including Elie Wiesel: Jewish, Literary, and Moral Perspectives (Indiana UP, 2013) andThe Wonder of Their Voices: The 1946 Holocaust Interviews of David Boder (Oxford UP, 2010; 2012). He has taught at universities and colleges in Israel and the United States, and lectures regularly on Holocaust Literature at Yad Vashem’s International School for Holocaust Studies and other Holocaust study centers. His current book projects include researching and writing a monograph entitled, “Killing Time, Saving Time: Calendars and the Holocaust.”
