The University of Maryland system has approved a new major, Religions of the Ancient Middle East (RAME).

The University of Maryland system has approved a new major, Religions of the Ancient Middle East (RAME). This new major plays to the strengths of our current faculty, featuring courses in Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and other religions of the ancient Mediterranean and Near East.

This 30-credit major requires one I-series course, and another three courses at the introductory level, as well as five electives and a capstone seminar. The major is designed to enable students to complete Gen Ed requirements in a coherent and intellectually interesting manner, even while completing another major at UMD.

For information, email rame-contact@umd.edu or call (301) 405-4975.
