It Will Yet Be Heard

Professor Emanuel Thorne discusses his fathers memoir, "It Will Yet Be Heard: A Polish Rabbi's Witness of the Shoah and Survival."

Rabbi Leon Thorne was born in Eastern Galicia and was ordained as a rabbi at age nineteen. He received his Ph.D. from University of Wuerzberg and became a chaplain in the Polish army in 1944.

His extraordinary history/memoir, written in part while in hiding in a small underground bunker below a Polish peasants pigsty, recounts his harrowing experience during the Holocaust. Emanuel Thorne, Rabbi Thorne's son, will discuss his father's life and legacy.

Emanuel Thorne, Ph.D., Yale University, teaches economics at Brooklyn College. He has published articles in the Yale Journal on Regulation, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. 

Join us at 4:30 PM for a Book Signing and refreshments, followed by the lecture at 5:00 PM.
